Boxed Sorbet Blanket

The colors of this blanket, inspired by one of the designer’s paintings, could be swapped out for each of the sorbet containers at your favorite local gelato bar. Made with an easy-care cotton blend yarn, it’s made mostly in pieces for a modular, on-the-go project that will become a favorite once completed.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: 48” x 62”

Gauge: Approx. 11 sts and 8.75 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc; each motif = 6” square. Since each section has a different pattern, and two sections are worked widthwise, gauge swatches are prudent for each of sections 1, 3 and 4.

Pattern Notes

Blanket is worked in sections and attached as you go according to schematic; once pieced together, a two-row edging is worked along three sides.
Ch 3 at the beginning of any row counts as first dc unless otherwise indicated.
Ch 2 at the beginning of any row counts as first hdc unless otherwise indicated.
Tip: when working single crochet edging along any long section edge in which you are working into side of stitches, place a split stitch marker at halfway point. Check at marker to ensure that number of stitches worked over first section is half the amount needed, making any necessary corrections at halfway point.
