Copper Blues Cowl

Half waffle stitch and half striped, this cowl is a great combination of what we love about fall. Textured crochet stitches worked up in this lovely blue makes for a unique end-of-summer pattern.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Size: 32” before sewn

Gauge: 14 sts x 8 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc

Materials

Yarn:

Medium weight yarn Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% Superwash Merino; 220 yards [200 meters]/ 110 grams): 252 Celestial, 1 skein; 1946 Silver Grey, 1 skein; 858 Dark Ginger

Hook: US size J/10 (6 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

The scarf is made in one panel and then sewn together to finish.

Pattern

With A, ch 23.

Note: Change out colors ever 3 rows with B and C.

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across.

Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc here and throughout), turn, *fpdc, dc in next 2 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, fpdc, dc in last st.

Row 3: Ch 3, turn, *dc in next st, fpdc in next 2 sts; rep from * to last 2 sts, dc in last 2 sts.

Rows 4-45: Rep Rows 2-3.

Rows 46-74: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Sewn ends together. Block as needed.
