I love the crisp air, the changing leaves. I love the anticipation and air filled the warmth of the approaching holiday season. I love the season of pumpkins, apple picking, gourds and root vegetables. I love the reds, oranges and yellows of the season. This time of year represents fond memories of my childhood. I would take long walks with my dad and I thought the autumn leaves were flowers. He would give me bunches of them and call them “flowers for my little girl.” This is by far my favorite time of the year!!!

  • I love the feeling of family and goodwill and thinking of others. It is especially prevalent during the holidays. I like to sit inside on a cold day and create something with my favorite hobby (crochet) for a loved one, family or friend, using yarn, creativity, and always with a little bit of love in every stitch. It brings me joy to make something for others. Even my poor cat gets hats in the winter!

  • Fall is my favorite season. All the leaves from the trees and plants change into multi-colored works of art and fall away. It creates bare, and vulnerable branches, revealing the true scenery underneath. It’s a great time to break out the jackets, coats, boots, scarves and hats in preparation for the change in season. It’s also the perfect time to start making hot cocoa, and lighting a fire in the fireplace. This season creates a sense of comfort, warmth and reflection. This is a season to be thankful, and to be surrounded by the people you love. A time to crochet blankets for the shelter and rescue animals to keep them warm and snuggly until they find their forever homes.

  • I love this time of year. Because all the summer chores are done. And I can start to crochet. And as the days get colder I start crocheting faster and faster as I realize how many hats scarves and gifts I need for every one. I always swear to start earlier every year but I don’t. And I love that designers start giving away some of the best patterns I find new ones to make daily thanks to social media. So in return of there gifts of patterns I find I always have leftovers to donate so I am paying it forward. And at this time of year. It warms my heart that my hand made gifts can warm another.

  • This is by far my favorite time of the year. Outside, the morning sky hangs low to gently touch the trees with their many shades of gold, rich red, and plum. The air is cool, crisp, and refreshing as we bid farewell to the oppressive heat of summer. It’s time to inspect our existing socks, blankets, and hats that I’ve made over time for fit and size. A smile plays across my face as I remember each of my children as they’ve grown and hope that the things I’ve made this year and things I’m still working on will bring comfort and joy to family, friends, and strangers alike. Yes, this is by far my favorite time of the year.
