Special Stitches

X Stitch (multiple of 2 + 1)
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in next st, *ch 1, sk 1, sc in next st; rep from 8 across.
Row 2: Ch 2, sk 1, sc in next st; rep from * across.
Rep rows 1-2 for st patt.

Pattern

Mitt – Work 2 the Same

Ch 45 (53, 61).
Work in X st for 3 ¼ (3 ¾, 4 ¼)”.

Form Thumb Hole

Ch 1, work patt 19 (23, 27) sts, ch 9 (11, 13), sk 9 (11, 13) sts, sc in next st, maintain patt across.
Next Row: Maintain patt across all sts.
Work in patt as estab until mitt meas 6 ½ (7 ½, 8 ½)” from beg. Finish off leaving long tail for seaming.

Finishing

Block to size. Seam beg to end. Weave in ends.
