Pattern Notes

Work the strip of motifs first, using the Join-As-You-Go method for attaching the motifs to each other, then filling in the spaces between each motif with filler motifs.

When working Join-As-You-Go motifs, attachments to each other use a loose slip stitch. Similar to working a chain stitch, but the back bump will create the attachment to the stitch or space working into.

When joining a motif to a spot where motifs are already joined, you will work into that previous joining slip stitch.

When working slip stitches always insert hook from front to back unless otherwise instructed.

Weave in all tails and gently block the Motif strip before adding to hemline of skirt.

The solid top part of skirt is worked from the waistband to hemline. It is started in rows to the depth of the zipper opening then joined to work in rounds until desired length is reached. Last round of stitches worked on this section will be used to join the motif strip to the hemline.

Directions for increases in top of skirt use stitch markers. If adding increases to adjust size around, add in multiples of 2 sts to keep stitch pattern.

Zipper is hand-sewn into opening at waist. See article on adding a zipper.
