Skirt Lining with Zipper Opening (optional)

Fold lining on the bias. Pin together to keep fabric from slipping. Place crocheted skirt edge along the fold, mark a 1¼” seam allowance, cut fabric along marked line. Mark on side seam, 7¾” below waist for zipper. Starting at waist line, with right sides of fabric facing in, baste edges to just below zipper mark. Machine stitch remaining edges together to hem line. Follow sewing instructions on package for zipper placement. Fold hem edge under ½” and baste. Fold under again making a 1” hem and machine stitch around from one side to the other. Turn lining under ¾” twice at waist band and machine stitch along edge. Hand stitch lining to waist band. Make sure to line zipper up with side opening before stitching together. Tack skirt at side seam opening to zipper tape. This will help keep seam together when skirt is zipper is closed.
