The Merrymaking Button Cowl is a wrap-style cowl worked up in a chunky lace pattern. One large button secures the cowl, making it fully adjustable for any wearer. This cowl is festive, fun and makes a perfect project to whip up for gift-giving or for yourself.

Super Bulky Weight Yarn Lion Brand Hometown USA Solids (100% acrylic; 81 yards [74 meters]/142 grams): Tampa Spice (2 balls)

Hook: US size N/13 (9.0 mm) hook

Notions: 1 button (1.5 to 2 inches wide), large tapestry needle, scissors

Cowl is worked flat and button is sewn on.
Pattern is worked in multiples of 4 + 2.

Pattern

Ch 26.
Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, 1 dc in next ch, *(1 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in next ch, skip 1 ch, 1 dc in each of the next 2 ch, repeat from * 1 dc in the last ch.
Row 2: Ch 5 and turn. Work *(3 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in the ch 3 sp, repeat from * then 3 dc in 3rd ch of t-ch.
Row 3: Ch 5 and turn. Work *(3 dc, ch 3, 1 dc) in the ch 3 sp, repeat from * then 3 dc in 5th ch of t-ch.
Repeat rows 3 until 30 inches long.

Finishing

Weave in any ends and block if desired (example is shown unblocked). yarn ball
