Spider:

Rnd 2: *Ch 5, sc into 2nd ch and next 4 chs, sl st into next st on spider body. Repeat from * 3 more times, sc into spider body, then repeat from * 4 times, leave a long thread to attach. Fasten off. (35 sc)
Broom Handle:
Row 1: With 2 strands of brown yarn, ch 25, sc in 2nd ch and remaining chs. Fasten off.
Broom Brush:
Row 1: Wrap 25-30 strands of tan yarn around 3 fingers, tie around the top about ¼” down and cut the bottom edges. Fasten off.
Assembly

- Sew motifs together per diagram.
- Sew hat band and buckle on crown.
- Sew hat brim to crown. When completely sewn together, *sl st into next st, ch 1. Repeat from * around entire hat.
- Fix the gold chain into a square buckle and sew to shoe.
- Sew each shoe to a leg, one on each side of one end of leg.
- Sew 2 legs to bottom of hat brim.
- Sew top of hat crown, one to each end of motif runner.
- Lay the broom on one side of the witch and fasten in one or two places.
- Attach the spider from one side of the witch’s hat to dangle about 3”.
Block entire piece using water, spray starch or your desired method.
