Golden Citrus Wrap

Crocheted in the color of golden sunshine, this wrap adds the perfect spring-touch to any outfit. Offset shells make for an interesting stitch pattern that compliments the center motifs.

5 double crochet Cluster (5 dc CL)

(YO, insert hook into st, YO, draw up a loop, YO, pull through 2 loops on hook) 5 times all in the same st, YO, pull through all 6 loops on hook.

4 treble Cluster (4 tr CL)

Ch 160 (168).

Row 1: Work (2 tr, ch 1, tr) in 6th ch from hook, [sk next 3 ch, (3 tr, ch 1, tr) in next st] across to last 2 ch, sk next ch, tr in last ch, turn. (39 (41) Shells)

Row 2: Ch 4, [(3 tr, ch 1, tr) in next ch-1 sp] across, tr in turning chain, turn.

Rows 3-6: Rep Row 2.

Row 7: Ch 4, [(3 tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1) in next ch-1 sp] across, tr in turning chain, turn.

Row 8: Ch 4, [(3 tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1) in next ch-1 sp, sk next ch-1 sp] across, ending with tr in turning chain, turn.

Rows 9-14 (18): Rep Row 2. Fasten off.

Motif 1 (make 2)

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in an adjustable ring

Rnd 2: Sl st in first st, (ch 6, sl st in next st) 7 times, ch 3, dc in first sl st.

Rnd 3: (Ch 5, sc in next sp) around, ending with ch 3, dc in base of first ch-5 length.

Rnd 4: Ch 6, (3 dc in next sp, ch 3) around, ending with ch 3, 2 dc in first sp of rnd.

Rnd 5: Sl st in next ch-2 sp, (ch 3, 2 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in same sp, [dc in next 3 dc, 3 dc in next sp, dc in next 3 dc, (3 dc, ch 3, 3 dc) in next sp] around, join with sl st to top of starting ch-3. Fasten off.

Motif 2 (make 1 [2])

Rnd 1: Work 8 sc in adjustable ring.

Finishing

Using photo as a guide, join motifs together by sc with WS facing, being careful to work in front loop of motif closest to you and back loop of motif behind.

Size S/M Only

Join motifs in this order: Motif 1 – Motif 2 – Motif 1.

Size L/XL Only

Join motifs in this order: Motif 1 – Motif 2 – Motif 1 – Motif 2.

Wet block motif strip, pinning to sharp rectangular shape and let dry.

Wet block shawl, being careful to pin each shell so spaces extended and stitch definition is shown. Let dry.

With RS facing, work 50 sc down front side edges of shawl.

With RS facing, sc motif strip to shawl edges in same manner as joined motifs. Use pins or clips to keep motif strip even on both sides.

Border

Top Edging

Rnd 1: With RS facing, join with sl st to first ch to left of top motif, sc in next 2 ch, (sc2tog by inserting hook into bases of next 2 shells, sc in next ch, sk next ch, sc in next ch) 3 times, (sc in base of next shell, sc in next ch, sk next ch, sc in next ch) around to last 6 shells, (sc2tog over next 2 shells, sc in next ch, sk next ch, sc in next ch) twice, sc2tog over next 2 shells, sc in last ch, turn.

Rnd 2: Ch 7, dc in same st, [sk next 2 sts, (dc, ch 4, dc) in next st] around, ending with sl st in 3rd ch of starting ch-3, turn.

Rnd 3: (Sc, 4 dc, sc) in each ch-4 sp around, join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

Bottom Edging

With RS facing, join with sc in sp between shells on back, *[(ch 1, tr) 6 times, ch 1] in 2nd tr of next shell, sc in sp between working shell and next shell*; rep from * to * around to center front motifs, [(ch 1, tr) 6 times, ch 1)] in 4th dc on motif, sk next 3 dc, sc in next dc, sk next 3 dc, [(ch 1, tr) 6 times, ch 1)] in next dc, sk next 3 dc, sc in ch-2 sp to L of motif; rep from * to * around, join with sl st to first sc. Wet block edging and let dry.

Tie

Ch until length meas 40 (45)”.

Thread ch through Rnd 2 of Top Edging and tie in bow above center motifs.
