Pattern Notes

  1. This pattern is worked from toe to heel. Toe/mosaic section is worked in rounds and heel section is worked in rows. Lining is made separately and then joined with the slippers, and the ribbing is added at last.
  2. The pattern is written for lined slippers. The pattern will not work or the slippers will not fit snuggly if you skip the lining. If you want to make slippers without lining, you can try with 1 size smaller hook and following the pattern for the size smaller than your actual size. Also make sure that the length is 0.5”-1” shorter than your foot length, before last 2 rows of heel section.
  3. Ch-1 does NOT count as a stitch.
  4. Do NOT fasten off the yarn, unless stated. For mosaic section, to change the color, pull the last loop of last stitch with new color. Pick the yarn up again as needed.
  5. After attaching new color/yarn, crochet over the loose ends to hide them.
  6. For mosaic pattern, dc is always worked in the front loop of stitch 2 rows below. This front loop looks like a little horizontal bar. When working a dc, always skip the sc behind dc (i.e. the sc one row below, worked in the back loop of the same st in which the dc-flo is worked.)
  7. For lining, it is very difficult to see sts with boucle yarn. To count the stitches, place a stitch marker in first st of the round, and then count as you crochet the stitches, because it is difficult to count the stitches after completing the round.
  8. 8. After the last inc round of lining (4th rnd for size S, 5th rnd for size M & L), count your stitches and adjust if necessary. Count your stitches regularly when working with boucle yarn.

Heel Section
Row 1 (RS): Ch 1, turn, hdc in 20 (20, 22) sts. Leave rem 7 (9, 9) sts unworked. (20, 20, 22 sts)

Also add inv sc2tog at both front corners of ankle opening. End with approximately 34 (36, 38) sts. You can add a few more or less sts, depending on your tension.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing. Fold the heel section downwards and sew with mattress st, using tapestry needle. Weave in the ends.

Fur Edging

Carefully insert the lining in the slipper. Avoid stretching the slipper.
With 5 mm hook and boucle yarn,
Join yarn at the back centre. Work by passing hook through both layers, slipper as well as lining. Insert hook only in back loops of slipper sc and through the lining layer. There are 34 (36, 38) sc around slipper opening. Hence same number of sc will be worked, through back loops only of these sts.
Do NOT join at the end of each round. Work in spiral.
Row 1: Ch 1, sc in each st. (34 (38, 40) sts)
Row 2-8: Sc in each st. Join with sl st after last row.
Fasten off leaving a long tail.
Fold the edging on outside, using tapestry needle, join the last row sts of the edging with the 1st row sts, with whip stitch. Insert the needle through the vertical bars of sc of 1st row. Weave the extra yarn on the outside, passing through the vertical bars of the 1st row sc.
Repeat for other slipper.
