A Note from the Editor

Have you ever lost yourself walking through a forest? I don’t mean the literal sense of the word (though if I didn’t have a smart phone equipped with GPS, that would be inevitable), but taking long strolls either alone or with friends does something positive for the soul. It allows you to tune out your troubles, calm your mind and focus on the beautiful surroundings. While all seasons have their own positives, for me, autumn holds a unique beauty. I love everything about it – the cooler air, the bold colors, the way your face is warmed by patches of sunlight peeking through tree branches. The lower temperatures also gives us crocheters another reason to pick up our hooks and create something new. After all, if you’re going to truly experience what the season has to offer, you’ll want to be outside as much as possible! Think apple picking, long walks in the forest preserve, outdoor hayrides – I could go on and on.
That’s why it’s with great pleasure that we announce our latest issue of I Like Crochet. Inside, you’ll find everything you need to make this season a memorable one, from scarves and shawls to modern jackets, bags and cozy blankets. To gear up for Halloween, try whipping up a deceptively simple Cottage in the Woods Wreath. It’s just the project your door needs – plus, it’s so easy to customize the color to suit your personal tastes.
Feeling inspired by fall’s gorgeous foliage? I know we are! Don’t miss our Mum’s The Word collection, featuring the stunning Fall for Floral Afghan and Pillow Set and incredible projects all inspired by the season.
Plus, get a sneak peek of the next season with our Fall Into Winter section boasting ultra-chunky accessories in calming, cool hues.
Happy crocheting,
Caitlin Eaton
