Bailey the Bunny

Make your own Easter bunny friend with this simple amigurumi crochet pattern. Bailey the Bunny has pastel-shaded polka dots on his inner ears and an egg design on his belly. Make one to use as decoration or to help fill Easter baskets.

Yarn:

Light Weight Yarn Patons Astra Yarn (100% acrylic; 161 yards [147 meters]/50 grams): Silver Grey Mix (A, 1 skein), Tangerine (B, 1 skein), Ocean Mist (C, 1 skein), Maize Yellow (D, 1 skein)

Hook: US size 2.5 mm hook

Notions: 8.0 mm safety eyes, black embroidery thread or yarn (for the eyebrows and mouth), stuffing, scissors, needle

Starting at the top of your bunny’s head,
Rnd 1: With (A), work 6 sc in a magic ring. (6 sc)

Rnd 1: With the color of your choice (I made one large circle in each shade B, C, and D), work 6 sc in a ring.
Rnd 2: Inc in each stitch in this round. (12 sc)
Fasten off.

Small Circle for the Ear

Rnd 1: Work same as the Large Circle, (I made two small circles in B and D, and one in C). (6 sc)
Fasten off.

Easter Egg Belly Patch

Starting at the bottom of the egg,
Row 1: With (A), ch 4.
Row 2: Turn, sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (3 sc)
Row 3: Turn, switch to (C) and ch 1, inc, sc, inc. (5 sc)
Row 4: Turn, switch to (D) and ch 1, inc, sc in next 3 stitches, inc. (7 sc)
Row 5: Turn, ch 1, sc in each stitch across. (7 sc)
Row 6: Turn, switch to (B) and ch 1, sc in each stitch across. (7 sc)
Row 7: Turn, switch to (C) and ch 1, sc in each stitch across. (7 sc)
Row 8: Turn, switch to (D) and ch 1, dec, sc in the next 3 stitches, dec. (5 sc)
Row 9: Turn, ch 1, sc in each stitch across. (5 sc)
Row 10: Turn, change to (B) and ch 1, dec, sc, dec. (3 sc)
Rnd 11: Do not turn, sc around the entire piece.
Fasten off.

Assembly

Sew the patches on to the ears, and then sew the ears onto your bunny. Make a pom pom for the tail, and sew it onto your bunny. Embroider on eyebrows above the eyes, and a small mouth. Decorate your Easter egg belly patch with thread if you wish, and then sew it onto the belly. Sew the arms onto your bunny. Now you are going to sew the bottom of each leg onto the foot, stuff each leg and then sew them onto your bunny. Weave in all the ends and trim them. Now you can enjoy your brand new little bunny! yarn ball
