Treble Linked Stars Runner

This is a fun to make table runner which is made up of join on the go motifs joined to the previous motifs with treble stitches.  It can be made in a single color or multiple colors, even with yarn instead of thread for a quicker project with larger motifs.  It can be made longer or shorter as desired into a placemat or centerpiece or even a tablecloth.

Time: This project took me about 10 days working a few hours in the evening, but I am not a fast crocheter and tend to have a lot of interruptions.

Skill Level: Easy

Gauge: Blocked motifs are 1 3/4”, trebles between motifs are 1/2’

Finished size: 46 1/2” x 12 1/2”

Materials

Thread: Aunt Lydia’s size 10 crochet cotton CC1 – #0494 Victory Red, CC2 – #0001 White, CC3 – 0487 Dark Royal – 1 ball of each. (White 400 yds, colors 350 yds each ball)

Hook: US size 7/1.65mm steel crochet hook

Special Stitches

Beginning Shell: (Beg Sh) (Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same space.

Shell: (Sh) (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in same space.

Beginning joined shell (Beg Jsh): (Ch 3, 2 dc, tr in adjacent motif, 3 dc) in ch-2 sp.

Joined shell (Jsh): (3 dc, tr in adjacent motif, 3 dc), in ch-2 sp.

Pattern Notes

The motifs are joined as you go with treble crochets into the previous motifs where specified in the instructions. Weave in loose ends as you go.

Rounds end with a sl st into the top of the beginning ch-3 unless otherwise stated.

Starting ch-3 counts as a double crochet.

Motifs are worked in rounds, and the work is always kept right side up.

Some motifs will join on only one side others will join on two sides

Always join the trebles to the matching ch-2 on previous motif.
