Give it a Tie Scarf

Try your hand at this crochet scarf that features a lovely texture with extended single crochet stitches. Bow stitches at each end of the scarf are finished off with a fun fringe that’s crocheted directly onto the scarf for easy finishing.

Esc – Insert hook in st indicated, yo, pull up a lp (2 lps on hook), ch 1, yo, pull through both lps.

Row 1 (RS): Esc in 2nd ch from hook, esc in each ch across. (33 esc)
Rows 2-3: Ch 1, turn, esc in same st and each esc across.

Row 4: Ch 1, turn, esc in same st, esc in next st, *ch 6, sk next 5 sts, esc in next st; rep from * across, esc in last st. (8 esc, 5 ch-6 sp)

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, esc in same st, esc in next st, *ch 6, sk next ch 6, esc in next esc; rep from * across, esc in last st.

Row 6: Ch 1, turn, esc in same st, esc in next st, *ch 3, sc around ch-6 sp from previous 2 rows, ch 3, esc in next esc; rep from * across, esc in last st. (8 esc, 5 sc, 10 ch-3 sp)

Rep Rows 27-28 until Scarf meas about 70”, do not cut yarn, proceed to Finishing Rows.

Notes: You can end on either Row 27 or 28, and you can make your Scarf shorter or longer if you wish.

Rows 24-25: Ch 1, turn, esc in same st and in each esc across, do not cut yarn.

Fringe

Ch 26, turn, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, cont to sl st across ch, sl st in same st, *sl st in next st, ch 26, sl st in 2nd ch from hook, cont to sl st across ch; rep from * across. Cut yarn.

Attach yarn at other end of Scarf and repeat Fringe.

Finishing

Weave in all loose ends.

Block Scarf gently.
