Easy Does It Crochet Cowl

This cowl is a buttery soft accessory worked up luxurious silky sport weight yarn.  It’s a wonderfully relaxing project that is a dream to both make and to wear!

Skill Level: Easy

Size: 7.5” wide x 34” circumference

Gauge: 8 shells and 4 rows = 4” [10 cm] unblocked

Materials

Fine weight yarnYarn: Vidalana Dream (70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere; 329 yards [300 meters]/100 grams): Tapenade (1 skein)

Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle, tape measure

Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked flat, then seamed.

Stitch multiple is 6 sts + 1.

Pattern

Ch 43.

Row 1: Work 2 dc in 4th ch from hook, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch, *sk 2 ch, 4 dc in next ch, sk 2 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * across, turn.

Row 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in first sc, *sc in sp between 2nd and 3rd dc of group (center space of 4 dc), sk 2 dc, 4 dc in next sc, sk 2 dc; rep from * across, sc in sp between last dc and tch, turn.

Rep Row 2 until piece meas approx. 34” from starting edge.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Seam ends together using the whip stitch.

Weave in all ends.
