Breton Stripes Sweater

Create your own iconic sweater featuring the timeless Breton stripes. Traditionally described as a cotton top with blue stripes, the Breton style originated from French navy uniforms in the late 1800s. Inspired by this trend, this sweater incorporates stripes with a modern twist – a relaxed fit and an off-the-shoulder neckline.

Pattern Notes

The body is worked flat from the bottom up with two identical pieces.

Hemline and sleeves are worked in rounds.

I used chainless starting dc for every first dc of each row/rnd instead of ch 3. There’s another good crochet technique to use is ch 2, dc into same stitch (count as first dc). In the pattern it  simply states dc into first stitch for every first dc of each row/round, so just choose your best technique.

From the designer: I would suggest a bigger hook with a yarn type that matches. Hope this helps! – Nicola, Editor
