The Serene Shores Wrap is the perfect layer for those in-between days when the sun is shining but there’s still a chill in the air. This wrap features a soft, sun-kissed blue and an airy lace design that drapes beautifully. The unique yarn—a cotton tube filled with light Merino wool—offers a luxurious feel with excellent loft, making each stitch soft, warm, and breathable. This wrap is perfect for an early morning stroll or catching golden hour on the patio. Crochet a second shawl panel with CC.
Joining
Whip stitch join the panels together through inside loops only creating a lacy eyelet pattern as follows:
- Bring panels together (sides without trellis edging).
- Whip st join the 2 panels just below a picot at the corner, skip 2 stitches (hide yarn by weaving yarn through shawl stitches, *join next 4 stitches with whip stitches, skip 4 stitches (hide yarn by weaving yarn through shawl stitches), rep from * across to last 2 stitches, skip 2 stitches (hide yarn by weaving yarn through shawl stitches), whip stitch just below picots at the end.
- Fasten off.
Finishing
Make 6 tassels in each color (see Tassel Instructions to follow).
Secure 1 tassel to the 1st picot made in Row 7 of the Trellis Fins Edging. Weave in ends.
Tassel
- Cut (1) length of yarn to 8” (20.3 cm). Set aside.
- Cut (12) lengths of yarn to 12” (30.5 cm).
- Lay the centers of the 12 strands perpendicular across center of 8” strand. With 8” strand, tie a knot around the 12 strands. Place both tails of the 8” ties up which will be how you attach tassel to shawl. The tails of the 12 strands should face down. They are now half their original length and create 24 strands.
- Cut (1) length of yarn to 18” (45.7 cm).
- Leaving an 8” (20.3 cm) tail, wrap the 18” length of yarn around the 24 strands approximately 1” (25 mm) from the tie strands. Wrap it around the 24 strands tightly 8 times. Tie a knot. Weave those two tails up over the wrap and down through the center of the tassel alongside the 24 strands.
- Trim the end of the tassel straight.
