Pattern Notes

This project is worked top down with Row 2 worked off both sides of Row 1, then the upper body of the duster is worked in turned rows with 4 shoulder increases to create raglan sleeve shaping. Size Medium – 2X also have bust increases in the front of the yoke. The yoke is then joined at the shoulder increases to create armholes. The lower body of the garment is worked in turned rows off the bottom of the yoke. Then yarn is re-joined to each armhole to work turned rounds for the sleeves with decreases for shaping.

It is very important to use 2 different colored stitch markers for the Shoulder Increases and Bust Increases.

Downloads

The green lines indicate the shoulder increases and are numbered. The red dots are the bust increase makers and the arrows show the direction of counting the 5 shells that are referenced in Row 15 of the Yoke instructions.

Is there a video for this pattern, I just can’t get past the yoke

Hello, we don’t have a video at this time. Let me know if you have a specific question about the yoke and I can pass it along to the designer. – Nicola, Editor

  • Couldn’t get past the neckline/yoke to save my life. No matter what I tried it just did not work for me. It was so frustrating because I wanted to make this so badly. I attempted it seven times.

I purchased this pattern and I am having an issue with it! The shell at the end and the beginning of each row, is it (sc, ch 2, 2 dc) or is it (sc, sl st, ch 3, 2 dc {counts as 1 Shl}). Also I’m not understanding where to place the makers for the bust increase: I am not quit understanding which shell to place them in. Is there a way you could send a pic of proper Marker placement please. Thank you

From the designer: Unfortunately at this time there is not a stitch chart or schematic available. With a garment pattern it is always helpful to read through the entire pattern before starting to crochet.

The pattern is broken up into neckline, yoke, lower body, solid dc points, hem border, and sleeves.

Each section should be approached individually. The instructions you queried, “The shell at the end and the beginning of each row, is it (sc, ch 2, 2 dc) or is it (sc, sl st, ch 3, 2 dc {counts as 1 Shl}).” Are the instructions for only Row 2 of the neckline.
Hope this helps! – Nicola, Editor

I have read through the pattern multiple times but I am not understanding where to put the stitch markers for the bust area. I guess I will place them where I think they should go.
Thank you and I am sorry but this wasn’t very much help to me

Yes that is perfect!! Thank you so much! I just had brain surgery and have been working on this but was stuck there. I assumed that is what you meant but wanted to make sure.
