Waverly Throw

This throw is worked in panels, so there’s no need to change colors mid row — just stitch the panels together to create moving lanes of color. Bulky weight yarn makes this project quick and easy.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: 50” x 56”

Gauge: 10 sc = 4” [10 cm]

Materials

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Anthem Chunky (100% Acrylic; 218 yards [200 meters]/200 grams): 28 Navy (MC, 3 balls), 30 Bachelor Button (CC1, 2 balls), 46 Deep Teal (CC2, 2 balls), 33 Cockatoo (CC3, 2 balls), 47 Sun Dried Tomato (CC4, 2 balls), 45 Autumn Sunset (CC5, 2 balls)

Hook: US size K/10 (6.5 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Linked treble crochet (ltr): Insert hook into horizontal lp in middle front of stitch just made, yo and pull up a lp, insert hook in next horizontal lp on front of same st, yo and pull up a lp, insert hook in next st of round, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, pull through 2 lps on hook) 3 times.

Standing tr: With sl knot on hook, yo 2 times, holding yarn on hook with finger, insert hook in st indicated, yo, pull up a lp, (yo, draw through 2 lps) 3 times.

Starting tr: With 1 lp on hook, insert hook into first st, yo, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps, (insert hook from front to back and into center of st just made, yo, pull up a lp, yo, draw through 2 lps) 2 times.

Pattern Notes

The ch-1 at beginning of rows does not count as a stitch.

To join new color at end of rows, work last stitch of old color to last yo, drop old color, pick up new color and draw through all lps.

Standing stitches are used to join a new color or to start a new round in a different stitch to the finishing stitch of the previous round.

Starting stitches are used at the beg of a round and continuing in same color.
