Cozy Cowl Neck Tee

Skill Level: Intermediate 

Size: XS (S, M, L, XL, 2X, 3X) to fit bust size 31½ (34¾, 37¼, 42¾, 45¾, 48, 51½)” and length 22¼ (23½, 23½, 24½, 24½, 25¾, 25¾)”

Gauge: 3 reps = 4” [10 cm] in using smaller hook; 3.5 reps = 5 [12.7 cm] in using larger hook; 5 rows/rnds = 3” [7.6 cm] in with either hook, all after blocking

Materials

Yarn:

Fine Weight Yarn Brown Sheep Lambs Pride Superwash Sport (100% wool; 180 yards [165 meters]/50 grams): Dragonfly Green (5 (6, 7, 8, 8, 9, 10) skeins)

Hook: US size G/6 (4.0 mm) and H/7 (5.0 mm) hooks

Notions: Yarn needle, stitch markers

Special Stitches

V-stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc) in stitch indicated.
Dbl V-stitch: (dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1, dc) in stitch indicated.
Fan: 5 dc in stitch indicated.
Dc2tog: Yo, insert hook into stitch indicated, pull up a loop, yo, draw through 2 loops (first leg made), yo, insert hook into next stitch indicated, draw up a loop, yo, pull through 2 loops (second leg made), yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Pattern Notes

Read through each line before beginning to avoid any confusion during stitching.
Take note of which direction you turn your work, turn it the same way each time, it will make for a cleaner ‘seam’.

Set Up Rows
Row 1: With WS facing, turn tee so that you will now be working into the bottom loops of the beginning foundation ch, join new yarn to any stitch at back of neck edge with sl st, ch 1, sc in each fsc across, sl st into first sc of rnd to join, turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first sc and in each sc across, sl st into first sc of rnd to join, turn.
Begin collar. Collar is worked perpendicular from tee, joining collar to tee with slip stitches into set-up row 2.
Row 3: Ch 22, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each sc across to last 4 sts, sk 2 sc, sl st into next 2 sc, turn. (20 dc)
Row 4: Dc in flo of each dc across, leave tch unworked, turn.
Row 5: Ch 2, dc in flo of each st across row to last 3 sts, sk next sc, sl st into next 2 sc, turn.
Row 6: Rep row 4.
Row 7: Rep row 5.
Row 8: Dc in flo of next 13 dc, tr in flo in each dc across, leave tch unworked, turn.
Row 9: Rep row 5.
Row 10: Rep row 4.
Row 11: Rep row 5.

Seam collar, sl st through blo of row just completed and through unused loop of the beginning foundation chain of collar, across, finish off.
Weave in all loose ends, for best results lightly wet block or steam.
