  • I really love the patterns you put out. But sometimes I want to change colors and use what I have in stock. But can’t always fine yarn usage measurements

I really would like to be able to make this scarf. I just love this and it would be even better if I make it for myself, or someone else.

I think it would be 24 as you are doing a berry stitch row and then a sc row. You are only counting the Berry stitches. The needle is an “L” which is a 8 MM .

The pocket in the photo shows that each pocket has 12 rows and not 24. Instructions for attaching the two pockets seems to be missing. Also, when using the yarn and needle size suggested the size is not 8″. It is more than that.

Waiting to hear. I made the scarf and just winged it. I did get a 7′ length and it looks nice enough to give as a gift.

The attachment instructions are missing and I think I answered her other questions already. To attach, I would just “sew” with yarn or slip, stitch each pocket to the bottom row of scarf and the up each side.

Hi Jennie! The stitch of the scarf and the pockets consists of 2 basic and repeated rows, a single crochet row and the berry stitch row. So for the pockets you will follow the pattern and complete 24 rows, 12 rows of single crochet and 12 rows of berry stitch.

Indeed, instructions for the pocket attachment are not included, as you simply use the tapestry needle and stitch the pocket in position at the bottom of the scarf.

Regarding the size it all is a matter of gauge. You will need to check that you are using the exact same yarn and hook and if you are crocheting more loosely or tightly, the result may vary.

Hope this helps! – Nicola, Editor
