Pattern Notes

The pattern has been designed for a total of 120 grannies (see schematic). However, you can adapt the size as you wish, taking into account that each motif measures 3” (7.5 cm) square (or your gauge).

You will notice that each Motif has different number of rounds, however, they have been designed to end up with a similar size and same number of stitches per edge.

If you have a sensitive skin, you can skip adding CC6 to your garment. While beads make a distinctive boho style, they may also cause some irritation.

If you use the type of yarn recommended (i.e. vegetal fibers), there is no need to block the grannies before assembly.

Assembly

Weave in all ends.

With CC5 and CC6 held together, add an additional Rnd to all motifs as follows:

Final Rnd: With RS facing, and starting in one of the corners, ch 1, *(sc, ch 2, sc) in next ch-1 sp, sc in next 13 sts; rep from * 3 more times, sl st on top of first st. (52 sc, 4 ch-2 sp)

With RS facing, arrange all motifs as indicated in figure 1.

Working through outer loops only, whipstitch squares together with CC5.

Border

Rnd 1: With RS facing, with CC5 and CC6 held together, join to one of the ch-2 corner sp of wrap, ch 1, *3 sc in ch-2 sp, sc in next 13 sts, [dc2tog (first leg in ch-2 sp from current granny, and last leg in ch-2 sp from the next one), sc in next 13 sts] until next corner of wrap; rep from *3 more times, sl st on top of first st.

Rnd 2: Ch 1, crab st to end, sl st on top of first st.

Finishing

Sew 2 buttons in one of the edges (see figure one). You can either add crochet chain with CC5 on the opposite side long enough to pass the button through, or just use the open corners of Motif 5.

Weave in all ends.

Blocking/ironing is optional, but I recommend it for a better finishing.
