February 2022: Table of Contents
It’s hard to believe the New Year is here! As I’m writing this from my home (where I’ve been working remotely since early 2020), I’m unable to recall the last 12 months in detail. Time felt strange last year – blurry and undefined like a painted canvas smeared with rain. But I do remember the good moments: time spent with family after months apart and evenings at home crocheting gifts for friends and family. And with 2022 finally here, it’s time to get excited at all the new opportunities that come along with a fresh start. New yarns to try, new projects to freshen up your wardrobe and plenty of opportunities to get inspired.
Start off your New Year with a list of patterns you can’t wait to start crocheting. Let me introduce the February 2022 issue of I Like Crochet. Need a gift for Valentine’s day? Our Cupid Picks section has something for everyone – though my personal favorite is the puppy coin purse (it stands up on its own). Add some brightness to your closet with the pieces in the Color Me Happy section. Featuring two striped cardigans, a functional tote with a bonus inner bag and a cozy hat-and-scarf set, these pieces are guaranteed to ring in the new year on a positive note.
Did we mention there’s a brand new coat pattern in this issue? The Misty Pocket Coat is similar to those shackets that were all the rage last season. It’s classic and simple style boasts just enough decorative detail to make it stand out from the rest.
Plus, don’t miss the incredible Midnight Garden Afghan. There’s only one word for this design: Stunning. Featuring bright flowers (large and small) against a dark-blue background and finished with a pom pom trim, this bohemian-inspired piece is begging to made for your living room.
The Midnight Garden Afghan is inspired by the dark floral fabrics that have been popular for moody, bohemian home decor. Dark blue sets the tone and frames large and small scale flowers, making them pop. Green leaves and vines give some foliage. Simple border and crochet pom pom trim finishes off the edges, adding a fun detail to the Afghan. Read More
Oak is a square-neck, waist and elbow shaped pullover to move from late winter chilly afternoons to the early spring season. The smooth blend of cashmere, camel, silk and baby alpaca is ideal to wear next to skin, and together with the light mohair provides an unique textured effect. Read More
A sweet gift idea for yourself or your bestie, this puppy coin purse features a classic metal clasp and safety eyes. The nose and ears are three-dimensional and adds to the cuteness! Read More
