Finishing

  1. Assemble Goose: Using the photo as a guide and making sure to leave the 30” length of yarn from the fasten off on Body for sewing the Goose to the Blanket and 6” of the 12” length of yarn from the fasten off on each Foot for sewing the portion of each foot that is not sown directly onto Body to the Blanket, sew Head, Wings, and Feet to Body. Sew Beak to middle portion of Head.
  2. Assemble Ducks: Using the photo as a guide and making sure to leave the 24” length of yarn from the fasten off on Body for sewing the Ducks to the Blanket and 4” of the 6” length of yarn from the fasten off on Beak for sewing the portion of each Beak that is not sown directly onto Body to the Blanket, sew Rnd 4 of Head to the 3 slip stitches on Row 5 of Body. When finished, the Duck’s Head should tilt back slightly towards its Tail. Then, sew Beak, with the foundation chain facing up and the stitches facing down, to the front middle portion of Head.
  3. Sew Goose and Ducks to Blanket: Using the photo as a guide and making sure to keep the yarn used for sewing from showing on the WS of Blanket by sewing through stitches, rather than around or in between them, sew Goose to the Blanket’s center circle. Then, pin six Ducks to the Blanket’s smallest colored ring and sew them into place. Finally, pin twelve Ducks to the Blanket’s largest colored ring and sew them into place.
  4. Make French Knot Eyes: With CC4, place French Knot Eyes on each side of Goose’s Head just above Beak and place a French Knot Eye on the middle portion of each Duck’s Head.

Weave in all ends.
