Blooming Baskets Set

Crochet a set of three crochet baskets in graduating sizes. Each has a thread granny square with varying flowers added. The baskets can be stacked one inside the other when not in use. Perfect for Easter morning, these baskets will be well loved by all.

Skill level: Intermediate

Sizes: Small (Medium, Large), 7 x 5.5” (9.25 x 7”, 12 x 8”)

Gauge: 6 sc and 6 rows = 2” [5 cm]

Materials

Lace weight yarnAunt Lydia’s Size 3 Crochet Thread (100% Mercerized Cotton; 150 yards): #926 Bridal White (G, 1 ball), #201 White (H, 1 ball), #775 Warm Rose (J, 1 ball), #423 Maize (K, 1 ball), #625 Sage (L, 1 ball), #531 Purple (M, 1 ball), #0036 Lilac (N, 1 ball)

Pattern Notes

Baskets are worked with 2 strands of yarn throughout using larger hook.

When working the striped rows, crochet over the unused color, changing color in top of the last stitch at each color change. This way you will not have strands of yarn showing on the inside of the basket.

Do not join rounds unless indicated.

An alternate thread if Aunt Lydia’s Size 3 Crochet Thread in Lilac is not available is Aunt Lydia’s Size 10 thread (100% Mercerized Cotton; 350 yards) in color #495 Wood Violet (1 ball). Use 2 strands held together.
