There’s nothing like going outside in the freezing temperatures with a thick and cozy scarf wrapped around your neck. The Radiant Ruby Scarf is worked up in a vivid shade of burgundy and is large enough to keep you warm even in the coldest of days.

Yarn:

Medium Weight Yarn Red Heart Super Saver (100% acrylic; 364 yards [333 meters]/198 grams): #0376 Burgundy (2 skeins for lady’s and gent’s; 1 skein for child’s)
Hook: US size G/6 (4.5 mm) hook 

Special Stitches

Shell: (3 dc, ch 3, sc, ch 3, 3 dc) in space as indicated in instructions.

Lady’s Scarf Pattern

Row 1: Ch 38, sc in 2nd ch from hook, [ch 3, skip 3 chs, sc in next ch] across, turn.
Row 2 (RS): Ch 1, sc in first stitch, ch 2, sc in next ch space, *Shell in next ch space, sc in next ch space, ch 2**, sc in next ch space, repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, sc in last stitch, turn.
Row 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in next ch 2 space, *ch 2, sc in next ch 3 space, ch 3 sc in next ch 3 space, ch 2**, 3 dc in next ch 2 space, repeat from * across ending last repeat at **, 2 dc in last ch 2 space, dc in last stitch, turn.
Rows 4-101: Repeat Rows 2 and 3.
Row 102: Ch 1, sc in same stitch, *ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3, sc in next sc, ch 3, sc in center dc of 3 dc, repeat from * across ending sc in last dc, fasten off and turn. 

Top Edging

With wrong side facing ch 2, dc in same stitch, (sc, ch 2, dc) in each sc across ending sc in last sc and fasten off.

Bottom Edging
