Gauge: 14 sts and 22 rows = 4” [10 cm] (Gauge is not critical for this pattern)

Materials

Medium weight yarnYarn: Red Heart with Love (100% acrylic; 390 yards [357 meters]/198 grams): 1502 Iced Aqua (A, 1 ball), 1938 Beachy (B, 1 ball)

Hook: US size M/13 (9.0 mm) 24” (or longer) cabled, double-ended crochet hook

Notions: Locking stitch marker, tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Picking up lps in horizontal sts: Horizontal sts are created when working the loops off the hook in the previous row and look like a series of chains connecting the vertical bars. When picking up in a horizontal st, insert hook under top strand of the horizontal stitch, yo and pull through to form lp on hook.

Pattern Notes

Working with a double-ended hook is similar to standard Tunisian Crochet except with the double-ended hook you will turn your work each time your hook is fully loaded with stitches.

Odd numbered rows are forward passes, working from right to left, picking up stitches and holding them on the hook.

Always change color and turn your work at the end of a forward pass when you have picked up all of the stitches.

Even numbered rows are return passes, working lps off the hook from left to right until you have only 1 lp remaining on the hook. Do not turn at the end of a return pass row.

Carry unused yarn up along side edge.
