Hanna C2C Scarf

Hanna is a cozy corner 2 corner scarf is worked on the diagonal. Soft tassels at each corner complete this fun to make scarf.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: Approximately 8” wide x 72” long

Gauge: 5 blocks and 5 rows = 4” [10 cm] in c2c stitch measured on the diagonal 

Materials

Yarn: Red Heart Hygge Yarn (70% Acrylic, 30% Nylon; 132 yards [121 meters]/141 grams):

#8631 Aloe (A, 2 balls), # 8339 Cloud (B, 2 balls) *project only uses a small amount of the 2nd ball of each color, #8369 Latte (C, 1 ball), # 8334 Almond (D, 1 ball)

Hook: US size J/10 (6.0 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

Block: Sl st, ch 3, 3 dc in ch-3 sp of block from previous row.

Pattern

Row 1: With A, ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 2 chs, turn. (1 block made)

Row 2: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 2 chs, work block in ch-3 sp of first block, turn. (2 blocks)

Row 3: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 2 chs, *block in ch-3 sp of next block; rep from * across, turn. (3 blocks; 1 block inc’d)

Rows 4-5: Rep Row 3. At end of Row 5, change to B by completing the last yo of the last dc with new color. Fasten off A.

Rows 6-8: Rep Row 3 using B. At end of Row 8, change to D.

Row 9: Rep Row 3 using D. At end of Row 9, change to A.

Note: At the end of Row 9, you will have 9 blocks. From now on, you will be working even on 9 blocks and will not be increasing.

Row 10: Ch 6, dc in 4th ch from hook, dc in next 2 chs, *block in ch-3 sp of next block; rep from * to last block, sl st in ch-3 sp of last block, turn.

Row 11: Sl st in first 3 dcs, *block in ch-3 sp of next block; rep from * to end.

Note: If changing color at the end of a Row 10 repeat, fasten off old color at end of row. Begin Row 11 at the * with the new color, skipping the 3 sl sts at the beginning of the row. The 3 sl sts are used to bring you to the correct place to begin the row if you are not changing colors.

Rep Rows 10-11 for patt, changing colors as indicated

Row 12: With A.

Row 13: With C.

Row 14: With B.

Row 15: With C.

Rows 16-18: With A.

Row 19: With D.

Rows 20-22: With B.

Rows 23-25: With A.

Rows 26-28: With B.

Row 29: With D.

Rows 30-32: With A.

Rep Rows 13-32 twice, then Rows 13-19 once more.

Row 80: With B, *block in ch-3 sp of next block; rep from * across, ending with sl st in ch-3 sp of last block, turn. (1 block decreased)

Rep Row 80 until one block rem, changing colors as indicated.

Rows 81-82: With B.

Rows 83-87: With A.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in ends.

Tassels (Make 4)

For each tassel, wind C 40 times around a 4” [10 cm] piece of cardboard.

Thread a piece of yarn under one end and tie tightly. Cut open the other end.

Tie a piece of yarn around about 0.5” down from the top tie.

Wrap around several times to secure tightly.

Trim bottom end of tassel and tie one to each comer of the scarf.
