Ehdc = extended half double crochet

Special Stitches

Extended Half Double Crochet (ehdc): yarn over, insert hook in stitch, yarn over, draw up a loop, yarn over, draw through one loop on hook, yarn over, draw through all three remaining loops on hook.

Increase (inc): work 2 sts in same st

Pattern Notes

Two panels are worked in rows, then joined in a round of single crochet.

Chain 2 at beginning does not count as a stitch.


Pillow Panel (make 2)

With MC, ch 53.
Row 1 (WS): Ehdc in 3rd ch from hook (skipped chs do not count as a st) and each ch across, turn. (51 ehdc)

Rows 2-34: Ch 2 (does not count as a st), ehdc in each st across, turn (do not turn after row 34).

Rnd 35: Edge panel as follows: Ch 2 at each corner and work 51 sc evenly across each side of panel. (204 sc, 4 ch-2)

Fasten off 1st panel, do not fasten off 2nd panel.


Place panels wrong sides together.

Rnd 1: Continue with MC, ch 1, join two panels together with sc in each st around working 4 sc in each ch-2 sp, join with sl st. (220 sc)

Rnds 2-3: Ch 1, (dc in next st, dc inc in next st) around last round ending with dc, join with sl st (330:495 dc)

Fasten off.

Rnd 4: With CC, ch 1, sc bl in each st around, join with sl st, fasten off. (495 sc)


Weave in ends.
