Pattern Notes

Work the motifs first, using the Join-As-You-Go method for attaching the motifs to each other in neckline shape, then work rounds inside the neckline for edging, and continue the body of the poncho in rounds off the bottom of the neckline.

Easiest way to work motifs in different colors is to crochet all the Round 1s, then all the Round 2s, then all the Round 3s.

Round 4s are then worked and used to join the motifs together. First making 2 strips of motifs 1-4 and 5-8, then Motif 9 and 10 are used to join the strips into the neckline shape.

After all motifs are joined in neckline, use the ball of yarn left attached to Motif 8 to work the neckline edging. The ball of yarn left attached to Motif 10 will be used to begin working the body rounds of the poncho.

Make slip stitches tight when joining to the beginning of a round. When starting a new color of yarn, use a loose slip stitch for joining motifs together unless otherwise instructed.

Do not count ch-1 of V-stitches as a ch-sp, except when working neckline edging and picot edging.

The (ch 4, dc) counts as first V-st in each round.
