  • Hi, I need a little help. I’m not a very experienced crocheter, and some things that are probably obvious are escaping me.
    1. There is no number given for the foundation. Assuming my math is correct, it looks to be 99, 3×33. I would very much like to verify that.
    2. What is the repeat number so that I can make the shawl narrower, to scarf width?

Hello again! From the designer: “The foundation row is the first line of instruction. It is red, horizontally at the bottom of the attached diagram. This design starts with (ch 3, dc in 3rd ch from hook) 33 times. There will be 33 little loops. Row 1 is worked around the posts of the 33 dc and in the same chs where the dc were worked, so at the base of each dc. (See the note between Foundation Row and Row 1 in the written instructions.)

To make the design narrower, work the Foundation Row to have a multiple of 4 + 1 loops (e.g. 17 loops would be approx 9” wide, excluding edging, if worked to the gauge specified in the pattern)”

      Here is the diagram: https://www.ilikecrochet.com/wp-content/uploads/Stole-Chart-and-Key.png

Hope this helps! – Nicola, Editor
