Color Me Calm Shawl

At this time of year, an oversized wrap with layers of deep, calming colors will never disappoint. Finished with pretty picot details and a creamy trim, this shawl is an easy yet stunning project.

Gauge: 20 sts and 7.6 rows = 4” [10 cm] in stitch pattern

Medium weight yarn Cascade Yarns Venezia Worsted (70% Merino Wool, 30% Silk; 219 yards [199 meters]/100 grams): 173 Grey (MC), 2 hanks; 302 Shy Violet (CC1), 2 hanks; 177 Orchid Haze (CC2), 2 hanks; 110 Pure Diamond (CC3), 2 hanks

Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle

picot – sc into indicated st, ch 3, join with sl st into sc just worked.

Pattern

With MC, ch 452.
Row 1: Picot in 8th ch from hook, *ch 5, sk next 3 sts, picot in next st; rep from * to last 4 sts, ch 5, sk next 3 sts, sc in last st, turn – 111 picots.
Row 2: Ch 5, sk first sc, *picot in 3rd ch of ch-5  sp, ch 5, sk next picot from previous row; rep from * across, ending with sc in 3rd ch of ch-7 tch, turn – 111 picots.

Row 3: Ch 5, sk first sc, *picot in 3rd ch of ch-5 just made, ch 5, sk next picot from previous row; rep from * across, ending with sc in 3rd ch of ch-5 tch, turn – 111 picots.

Rows 4-8: Rep Row 3.
Change to CC1.
