“Inc” in a crochet pattern stands for “increase.” When you see “inc” in the instructions, it means that you should work more than one stitch into the same stitch or space, thereby increasing the number of stitches in that particular row or round. The specific instructions for the increase will depend on the type of stitch you are using and the design of the pattern.
