Materials

Yarn: Perfection Chunky by Kraemer (30% merino, 70% acrylic; 120 yards [110 meters]/100 grams): Daisy (A, 3 skeins), Rose Hip (B, 2 skeins), Evening Song (C, 3 skeins), Spring Rhyme (D, 4 skeins), Turquoise (E, 5 skeins), Onyx (F, 12 skeins)
Hook: US size I/9 (5.5 mm) hook

Special Stitches

Tr5tog: [YO twice, insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop, (yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) twice] 5 times, yo and draw through all 6 lps on hook.
Tr6tog: [YO twice, insert hook in next st, yo and draw up a loop, (yo, draw through 2 loops on hook) twice] 6 times, yo and draw through all 7 lps on hook.

Pattern Notes

Each square is made with a main color and black. Make the amount of squares needed for each color.
A: 9, B: 8, C: 12, D: 14, E: 20

Pattern

Using main color, chain 8. Join chain with a sl st, forming a ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), work 5 tr in ring, *ch 3, work 6 tr in ring, rep from * around two times more, ch 3, join round with a sl st in top of beg ch 4.
Rnd 2: Ch 5, tr5tog, *ch 5, sl st in next 3 ch, ch 5, tr6tog, rep from * around twice more, ch 5, sl st in last ch 3, fasten off.
Rnd 3: With F, join with a sl st in top of any cluster. *work [3 tr, ch 1, 3 tr, ch2, 3 tr, ch1, 3 tr] in next ch 3 sp from round 1, sl st in top of next cluster, rep from * around 3 times more, end last repeat with join rd with a sl st in first sl st changing to main color.
Rnd 4: Ch 4 (counts as 1 tr), work 5 tr in same place as joining, *work (6 tr, ch2, 6tr) in next ch 2 space, work 6 tr in sl st at top of next cluster, rep from * around twice more, end work (6tr, ch2, 6tr) in last ch 2 space, join rd with a sl st in top of beg ch 4, changing to F.
Rnd 5: Ch 1, sc in same st, sc in next 5 dc, dc by drawing up loop through the ch 2 space from rd 3, sc in next 6 dc, 3 sc in ch 2 space, continue in same pattern around block (dc into each ch 2 space from rd and 3 sc in ch 2 spaces) and then join with a sl st and fasten off.
Repeat until all the squares are complete, using guide for color and number of each required. Seam squares together using F and the square placement table. Weave in all ends.
