Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first st, *sc3tog starting in same st as previous sc, ch 1; rep from * across to last st, sc in last st, turn.

Pattern Notes
The necktie is worked flat, staring at the wider end, with gradual decreases. After finishing, the tie is folded and sewn along the back. The edges of both ends are folded and sewn to form the traditional pointed tips of the tie.

Ch 43, turn.
Foundation Row (RS): Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc across. 42 sc.
Begin working Trinity Stitch pattern.
Work in Patt for 5”. Begin working Dec as follows:
Dec Row: Ch 1, sc3tog, ch 1, work Trinity Stitch pattern across to last 2 sts, sc3tog worked as Trinity st without ch 1, turn. 2 sc Dec’d.
Rep Dec Row every 5” for a total of 11 times. 20 sts.
Work even until tie measures 56”
Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing up.
Finishing
With a long yarn tail and tapestry needle sew the edges of the tie together, folding them to the center back. Catch the front of the tie every 1” to make sure to keep the seam at the center back. Fold the edge corners toward the back to form a pointed tip, and sew to the back of the tie.
Weave in the ends. Steam block with hot iron over a wet tea towel.
