Orchid and Chocolate Links Necklace

This crocheted necklace keeps its shape after a long day, making it a great day-to-night accessory. Basic jewelry supplies and a simple crochet stitch combine to make a beautiful necklace.

Materials

Yarn: Galler Yarns Parisian Cotton (100% mercerized size 3 cotton thread; 1090 yards [1000 meters]/285 grams): #4041 Orchidee (CA, 1 cone), #72440 Chocolate (CB, 1 cone)
Hook: US size F/5 (3.75 mm) hook
Notions: Bead landing chain connectors, 30 piece set (or nine 1.5” chain connectors and ten 1” unjoined chain connectors); Bead landing chain closures, 12 piece set (or 1 chain closure); tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

Right handed crocheters should join pieces from left to right. Left handed crocheters should join pieces from right to left. Be sure to check position before adding next connectors and before crocheting to ensure consist look and that right side faces out.

Pattern

First Connection

Gently open first small chain connector. Position chain closure around one side and first large chain connector around other side. Close small chain connector. With 2 strands of CA, work 24 sc around small chain connector, ch 1, working behind chain closure, join with sl st to top of first sc. Fasten off. With 2 strands of CA, work 35 sc around large chain connector, join with sl st to top of first sc. Fasten off.

Next Connections

Gently open next small chain connector. Position with previously worked connectors on one side and next large chain connector around other side. Close small chain connector. With 2 strands of CB, work 25 sc around small chain connector, join with sl st to top of first sc. Fasten off. With 2 strands of CA, work 35 sc around large chain connector, join with sl st to top of first sc. Fasten off.
Repeat process for next connections 7 more times, or until desired length is reached.

Final Connection

Gently open next small chain connector. Attach to all previous connectors. Close small chain connector. With 2 strands of CA, work 25 sc around small chain connector, join with sl st to top of first sc. Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in yarn ends with tapestry needles.
