Margo Easy Hat

Lightweight yarn makes a cascading rain of strands in this simply unique hat. Great texture, great stretch and comfort are highlights that cannot be missed in this design.

Skill Level: Easy

Size: 21” circumference, 7” tall

Gauge: 22 sts and 14 rows = 4” [10 cm] in alternating FPdc, BPdc stitch pattern

Light weight yarnYarn: Lisa Souza Dyeworks Petal (50% silk, 50%Merino; 438 yards [401 meters]/100 grams): Mother of Pearl (1 ball)

Hook/Needles: US size H/8 (5 mm)

Pattern Notes

Hat is worked from the top down in joined rounds.

Increases are always worked around a front post double crochet.

Stitches alternate between back post and front post double crochet with back post double crochet always worked around back post stitches and front post double crochet around front post stitches, with the exception of every even numbered increase round where the last front post double crochet before the next increase is worked around a back post double crochet.

Rnd 1 (RS): 11 dc in 4th ch from hook (skipped 3 ch count as first dc), sl st to join. (12 dc)
