Autumn Blooms Set

This kitchen set features a floral stripe detail reminiscent of a pot of fall chrysanthemums. Both the dishcloth and towel are quick to crochet and together they make a great gift set.

Yarn: Bernat Handicrafter DeLux (100% cotton; 236 yards [215 meters]/142 grams): Gold (CA, 1 ball), Poppy Red (CB, 1 ball)
Hook: US size I/9 (5.5 mm) hook
Notions: Tapestry needle

Special Stitches

2-dc cluster: Yo, insert hook in indicated st, pull up a loop, yo, pull through two loops on hook (2 loops remain on hook); yo, insert hook in same st, pull up a loop, yo, pull through two loops on hook (3 loops remain on hook); yo, pull through all 3 loops on hook.

Dishcloth Pattern

Row 1: With CA ch 26, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each remaining ch to end; turn. (25 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st to end; break CA, turn. (25 sts)
Row 3: With CB join to 1st st with sl st, ch 2, skip 1st st, dc in next st (ch 2 and dc count as dc2tog), ch 3, 2-dc cluster in 3rd ch from hook, *dc3tog, ch 3, 2-dc cluster in 3rd ch from hook; rep from * until 2 sts remain, dc2tog, turn. (17 sts)
Row 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in 1st st, *skip ch-3, dc3 in next st; rep from * to last ch-3, skip ch-3, 2 dc in last st; break CB, turn. (25 sts)
Row 5: With CA join to 1st st with sl st, ch 1, hdc in each st to end; turn. (25 sts)
Rows 6-20: Ch 1, hdc in each st to end; turn. Break CA after Row 20. (25 sts)

Edging

With CB sc around dishcloth, working 3 sc in each corner. Weave in ends.

Towel Pattern

Row 1: With CB ch 44, hdc in 2nd ch from hook, hdc in each remaining ch to end; turn. (43 sts)
Row 2: Ch 1, hdc in each st to end; break CB, turn. (43 sts)
Row 3: With CA join to 1st st with sl st, ch 2, skip 1st st, dc in next st (ch2 and dc count as dc2tog), ch 3, 2-dc cluster in 3rd ch from hook, *dc3tog, ch 3, 2-dc cluster in 3rd ch from hook; rep from * until 2 sts remain, dc2tog, turn. (29 sts)
