An easy repeat pattern makes this scarf a breeze to crochet! Blocks of color paired with a golden, honey-colored yarn make this the perfect fall accessory.

Skill Level: Beginner

Size: 76” / [193 cm] x 9.5” / [30 cm] (excluding fringe)

Gauge:  2 shell pattern repeats and 3 rows = 2.5” [6.25 cm] 


Medium weight yarnYarnStylecraft Special Aran (100% Acrylic; 214 yards [196 meters]/50 grams): 1725 Sage (C1, 1 ball), 1023 Raspberry (C2, 1 ball),1709 Gold (C3, 1 ball), 1080 Pale Rose (C4, 1 ball), 1218 Parchment (C5, 1 ball)

Hook: US size I/9 (5.5 mm)

Notions: Tapestry needle


Using C1, ch 37.

Row 1: Work 3 dc in 5th ch from hook, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch, *ch 3, 3 dc in same ch as last sc, sk next 3 ch, sc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn

Row 2: Ch 4, 3 dc in first ch of beg ch-4, sk next sc and 3 dc, sc in next ch-3 sp, *ch 3, 3 dc in same ch-3 sp as sc just made, sk next (sc, 3 dc), sc in next ch-3 sp; rep from * across, working last sc under beg ch-4, turn

Rep Row 2 for patt for a total of 10 rows in C1.

Cont following Color Repeats below.

Color Repeats

10 rows C2, 10 rows C3, 10 rows C4, 10 rows C5, 10 rows C2, 10 rows C3, 10 rows C4, 10 rows C5.

Fasten off.



Make a total of 16 fringes, 8 in C3 and 8 in C1.

For each Fringe, cut 3 strands of yarn approx. 12” in length and fold in half.

Attach 8 evenly across each end of Scarf and trim if needed.

Weave in all ends.

      Hi Danielle, this stitch pattern is called many names, but it is commonly called the Tulip Stitch. Hope that helps! – Nicola, Editor
