Always in style, this crochet take on a classic tee has a surprise: the back come together to form a row of sweet little bows. Simple and chic, this tee is truly a must have for this season.

Size: Finished Bust Size 34.25 (38, 42.75, 46.5, 50.25, 54)” to fit bust 32 (36, 40, 44, 48, 52)”

2-4” positive ease recommended.

Gauge: 17 sts and 8 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc after wet blocking

Materials

Yarn: Nako Calico (50% Cotton, 50% Acrylic; 267 yards [245 meters]/100 grams): CL10255 Grey (CC1, 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) balls), CL11220 Powder (CC2, 2 (2, 3, 3, 4, 4) balls)

Needles: US size G/6 (4.0 mm)

Notions: Cable needle, tapestry needle, stitch markers

CC1 – Contrast color 1

CC2 – Contrast color 2

Pattern Notes

The top is worked from the bottom up.

The front and back hems are made separately and then joined to work the body in the round.

The turning chain/beginning chain counts as first dc throughout

The stripe pattern is created by working 2 rnds/rows with CC1 followed by 2 rnds/rows with CC2. This pattern is followed throughout and color change is not mentioned in the pattern.

Beginning Ch counts as dc throughout.

Back Hem

With CC1, ch 75 (83, 93, 101, 109, 117).

Set-up Row (RS): Dc in 4th ch from hook, *dc in next ch; rep from * to end, turn. (73 (81, 91, 99, 107, 115) dc)

Next Row (WS): Ch 3, *dc in next dc; rep from * to end.

Rep last row 6 more times.

Fasten off. Break yarn.

Front hem

Work same as Back Hem. Do not break yarn.

Join Hems

Next Row (RS): Ch 3, *dc in next dc; rep from * to end of Front Hem, dc in first dc of Back Hem, **dc in next dc; rep from ** to end of Back Hem, join with sl st to 3rd ch of beg ch. (146 (162, 182, 198, 214, 230) dc)

Next Rnd: Ch 3, *dc in next dc; rep from * to end, sl st in 3rd ch of beg ch.

Rep last rnd, changing color every 2 rnds 18 more times. (14 stripes total; piece meas about 14”)

Divide Front and Back

Next Row: Ch 3, (dc in next dc) 72 (80, 90, 98, 106, 114) times, turn and continue working back and forth for Front, leaving the rem 73 (81, 91, 99, 107, 115) dc to work the Back later.

Next Row (WS): Ch 3, *dc in next dc; rep from * to end. (73 (81, 91, 99, 107, 115) dc)

Rep last row 6 (6, 8, 8, 10, 10) more times ending with a WS row.

Shape Neck

Next Row (RS): Ch 3, dc in next 22 (26, 31, 35, 39, 43) dc, dc2tog twice, dc in next 2 dc, turn to cont working Left Front, leaving rem sts for Neck and Right Front. (27 (31, 36, 40, 44, 48) sts)

Left Front

Next Row (WS): Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc2tog twice, dc in each dc to end, turn. (25 (29, 34, 38, 42, 46) sts)

Next Row (RS): Ch 3, *dc in next dc; rep from * to last 6 sts, dc2tog twice, dc in next dc, dc in turning ch, turn. (23 (27, 32, 36, 40, 44) sts)

Next Row (WS): Ch 3, dc in next dc, dc2tog twice, dc in each dc to end, turn. (21 (25, 30, 34, 38, 42) sts)

Fasten off and break yarn.

Right Front

Work 2 rows even.

Fasten off and break yarn.

Finishing

Seam Front and Back at the shoulders.

With RS facing and CC2, join yarn at underarm.

Rnd 1: Ch 1, work 68 (68, 76, 76, 86, 86) sc around the armhole, join with sl st to beg ch. Fasten and break yarn.

Weave in ends. Block to finished measurements.
