Ch 4 at beginning of round counts as dc, ch 1.

Collar and cuffs are worked back and forth in rows, at a right angle to the body or sleeve. The ribbing is attached at the end of every other row by working the last stitch of the ribbing and the next stitch of the body together. Be sure to skip a stitch in between each join.

Hi…I also am confused by same thing as other person…if we are working in the round, how can we only have a 21 inch ribbing? I could understand 21 inches if we were making separate front and back pieces, then we would have a total of 42 inches, but it doesn’t seem right to only have 21 for entire hip area. I guess I’ll just go ahead and make the ribbing twice as long as pattern calls for so it fits my hips then go on with pattern from there. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks. Terri

  • hello, i started doing this sweater, I’m a 40″ bust size, so when i did the hem ribbing, which is recommended to be 21″, how this should fit on my 40″ waist, or my 50″ hips? I’m really confused, and if i increase the size of the hem, this would increase the entire size of the sweater. any suggestions?
