Pattern Notes

This pattern is worked vertically from the narrow edge at front increasing stitches to the straight panel where stitch count will remain the same.

Two colors are worked in every row, one color for the main body, another for the accent edge.

To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over, yarn over with the new colors and pull through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color, do not fasten off old color simply drop it and pick up the color when needed.

All stitches are worked in front loop throughout pattern.

This skirt is fully reversible so there is no right or wrong side.

Location of ties can be adjusted for a more custom fit by folding skirt into thirds and marking the fold points for tie placement.

The slip stitch across the top of the skirt (atop the rows) prevents the fabric from over stretching while being worn.

    Lorna,
What are the beginning chains for a size 54″ waist for this skirt I love the pattern and do you have to change colors?

Hi Yvonne! We’ve reached out to the designer for advice and she or I will reply as soon as possible. Thanks! – Nicola

    • I’m not the designer, but it appears the pattern is worked from the small section and each row adds width and not length. You would repeat rows 34 and 35 until you’re satisfied with the width or fit. My guess is you’d need appx 180 rows to get your desired size.
I’m personally not going to do a color change.
