Gauge: 16 sts x 16 rows =4” [10cm] in pattern stitch

Materials

Light weight yarnYarn: Cascade Yarns Sarasota (60% cotton, 40% acrylic; 314yds [287.5m]/100g): 237 Dusty Turquoise (1 ball)

Hook: US Size G/6 (4.0mm) or size needed to meet gauge

Notions: 9” zipper, sewing needle and thread, tapestry needle

Ch – chain

St – stitch

Sc – Single Crochet

Dc – Double Crochet

Sl st – Slip stitch

Project is worked flat in two pieces, then attached to zipper and seamed.

Sides (make 2)

Ch25

Row 1: Dc in 3rd ch from hook, * skip next ch, (sc, dc) in next ch, repeat from * to last 2 chs, skip next ch, sc in last ch, turn.

Row 2: Ch 1 (counts as first sc), dc in first st, * skip next st, (sc, dc) in next st, repeat from * to last 2 sts, skip next st, sc in last st, turn.

Rows 3-38: Repeat row 2.

Fasten off.

Assembly

Using a needle and invisible thread, sew one long side of each piece to one side of zipper.

With crochet hook and yarn, beginning at the top corner and working along short side away from zipper, join yarn and seam using 23 sc, work 3 sc in the corner, work 34 sc along long side, work 3 sc in next corner, work 23 sc along final short side.

Fasten off.

Finishing

Weave in ends.
