Rnd 4: Join color C to 3rd trb of any petal. Ch 7 (count as trb plus 3 ch), trb in same stitch (corner made), *3 ch, dc in hdc of round 3, 3 ch, sc in 3rd trb of petal, 3 ch, dc in hdc, 3 ch, [trb, 3 ch, trb] in 3rd trb of petal. Corner made.* Repeat from * to * once more. Ch 3, dc in hdc, ch 3, sc in 3rd trb of petal, chain 3, dc in hdc, chain 3. Join with sl st to 4th chain of starting chain.
Rnd 5: Ch 3 (count as dc), *[3 dc, 3 chain, 3dc] in 3 chain space (corner made). 1 Dc in trb, 3 dc in 3 chain space, 1 dc in dc, 3 dc in 3 chain space, 1 dc in sc, 3 dc in 3 ch-space, 1 dc in dc, 3 dc in 3 ch-space, 1 dc in trb.* Repeat from * to * twice more omitting the last dc in trb on second repeat. Row 6: Join color D to any corner space. [Ch 3 (count as dc), 1 dc, 3 ch, 2 dc] in corner space. *1 dc in each of the next 23 dc, [2 dc, 3 chain, 2 dc] in corner ch-space*. Repeat from * to * once more. 1 Dc in each of the next 23 dc. Join with sl st to 3rd chain of starting chain. Fasten off.
Row 7: With same color as used in Row 1 and Row 2, sl st around post of each dc in row 6, working 2 ch in corner spaces. Start with first dc after a corner space. Lay the working yarn down on top of the triangle and insert the hook from right to left under the dc. Catch the yarn, pull up a loop and make the sl st as normal.
Make seven more flags using the following color sequencing for each flag:
B, C, D, A
C, D, A, B
D, A, B, C
D, C, B, A
A, D, C, B
B, A, D, C
C, B, A, D
Work away ends and block the triangles so that edges are straight and corners pointy.
With color C, work 60 chain stitches, work 1 sc into corner ch-space, then work sc evenly in dc along the top of first triangle, then 1 sc into corner ch-space. Ch 10, work 1 sc into corner ch-space, then work sc evenly in dc along the top of second triangle, then 1 sc into corner ch-space. Continue in this way to until all flags are joined. Work 62 chains. Turn. Work htr in 2nd chain from the hook and each chain and sc to end. Make sure not to twist the chain.
