Yarn: Knit Picks Brava Worsted (100% premium acrylic; 218 yards [200 meters] / 3.5 ounces [100 grams]): #28410 Almond (MC 12 balls)

Knit Picks Fairy Tale Fur (100% polyester; 71 yards [65 meters] / 3.5 ounces [100 grams]): #29442 Breccia (CC1 2 balls)

Hook: US size J/10 6.0 mm and N/15 10.0 mm

Notions: Removable markers, tapestry needle, Optional: sewing needle, monofilament fishing line “ideal for spinning reels”, (64) 6-mm beads, (32) 12-mm tear drop beads, (32) 4-mm metal beads.

Pattern Notes

Garment is worked from bottom up to shoulder as one piece, then from shoulder down in 2 panels.

Project is worked flat from side to side in turned rows.

Chain 1 at beginning of row does not count as a stitch.

Chain 3 at beginning of a row counts as a stitch.

Chain 5 at beginning counts as double crochet.

Chain 6 at beginning of a row counts as double crochet and chain 3.

Chain 7 at beginning of row counts as double crochet and chain 4.

Gentle Wave pattern is worked in multiples of 14 + 3 chain + 3 beginning chain.

Main garment stitched with smaller hook. Fur cuff is stitched with larger hook.

You will not be able to see your stitches when working with the fur. Simply feel the space between knots and insert your hook there.

To prevent garment from stretching, consider stay stitching by working slip stitches inside from bottom up or sewing ribbon inside. Garment pictured does not have stay stitching.

Garment will be worked in 2 panels from this point. Place st marker 1 on double crochet in the valley at center stitch of last row worked (86th st from end). Marker will be used on fur cuff section. Place stitch marker on middle dc of the peak to the left and right of stitch marker 1. These are where panels 1 and 2 will end leaving 13 stitches unworked creating back of neck area.

Panel 1

Row 76: Ch 1, sc in each of next 79 sts, leave rem sts unworked, turn. (79 sc)

With RS facing, attach MC to bottom inside corner of Panel 2. Cuff will be added in a U shape from bottom left of Panel 2 to bottom right of Panel 1 / the inside edges.

Row 1: Ch 1, sc across working 1 sc on end of each sc row, 2 sc on end of each dc row, 3 sc on end of each tr row, 4 sc on end of each dtr row, work 15 sc across neck area (unworked sts from row 76), move st marker 1 as you go. Remove other stitch markers. turn. (265 sc)

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 3, sk 3 sts, sc in next st, rep from * across. (66 ch-3 sps)

Fasten off.

Attach CC1 to bottom inside corner of Panel 2.

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 dc in each ch-3 across, turn. (132 dc)

Rows 4-6: Ch 1, dc in each st across to 2 sts before st marker, (2 dc in next st, dc in next st) 2 times, 2 dc in next st, dc in each st across. (141 dc)

Fasten off.

Finishing

Add beads to each peak of outside edges if desired as follows:

Cut 36” length of fishing line, thread onto needle, attach fishing line to 2nd ch of 1st peak with knot, string 2 round beads, 1 tear drop bead, 1 small metal bead, slide beads up to peak of project, insert needle back through tear drop and 2 round beads (do not thread through metal bead). Tie a knot to secure beads at peak. With needle, thread along edging to next peak. Repeat beading process across edging weaving in fishing line and attaching new line as needed.

Add beads to edging on other side of garment.
