Flower Power Throw

It’s just not spring without some bright floral motifs, and this throw has them in spades. This throw is great to work on while on the go as it’s made as individual granny squares that are later joined together.

Materials

Yarn: Red Heart Super Saver (100% acrylic; 160 yards [146 meters]/85 grams): #0706 Perfect Pink (A, 1 skein), #3620 Glowworm (B, 1 skein), #0235 Lemon (C, 2 skeins)
Hook: US size H/8 (5.0 mm) hook or size needed for gauge

Special Stitches

Beginning 3 double crochet cluster (beg 3 dc cl): Ch 3, holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, 2 dcs in same place as beginning ch 3, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
3 double crochet cluster (3 dc cl): Holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, 3 dcs as indicated in instructions, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
Beginning treble crochet cluster (beg tr cl): Ch 4, holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, 2 trs in same place as beginning ch 4, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
Treble crochet cluster (tr cl): Holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, 3 trcs as indicated in instructions, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
Beginning 2 double crochet cluster (beg 2 dc cl): Ch 3, holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, dc in same place as beginning ch 3, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
2 double crochet cluster (2 dc cl): Holding back last loop of each stitch on hook, 2 dcs in indicated in instructions, yo, pull through all loop on hook.

Pattern

Squares (Make 30)

Rnd 1: With A ch 4, slip stitch in first ch to form a ring, ch 3, 11 dcs in ring, join to 3rd ch of beginning ch 3. (12 dcs)
Rnd 2: Beg 3 dc cl, (ch 3, 3 dc cl) in each stitch around, join in top of beg 3 dc cl and fasten off.
Rnd 3: Join B in top of any 3 dc cl, ch 1, sc in same stitch, ch 5, skip next ch 3 space, [sc in next stitch, ch 5, skip next ch 3 space] around, join to first sc.
Rnd 4: Slip stitch in ch 5 space, (beg tr cl, ch 5, tr cl) in same space, *[ch 4, dc in next ch 5 space] twice, ch 4**, (tr cl, ch 5, tr cl) in next ch 5 space, repeat from * around ending last repeat at **, join in top of beg tr cl and fasten off.
