Second Season Wrap

This crescent-shaped, tri-colored pastel wrap is the ideal springtime accessory. Worked up in lightweight cotton yarn, this wrap is a perfect cover-up to carry with you as temperatures fluctuate this spring.

Skill Level: Intermediate 

Size: Crescent shaped, 48” long at top x 96” long at Picot bottom, 10 ½ “wide 

Gauge: 10 trs and 4 rows = 2” [5 cm]

Yarn:

Fine Weight Yarn Fibra Natura Cotton True Sport (100% pima cotton; 197 yards [180 meters]/50 grams): #109 Dusk (A, 2 skeins), #111 Violet (B, 2 skeins), #108 Island Blue (C, 2 skeins)
Hook: US size D/3 (3.25 mm) hook
Notions: Tapestry needle, stitch markers

Pattern Notes

When changing yarn colors, drop previous yarn color and complete stitch with new yarn color.
Ch 3 in beg of row counts as dc.
Ch 4 in beg of row counts as tr.
Ch 5 in beg of row counts as tr, ch 1.

Special Stitches

Petal puff (pp): (sc, ch 3, tr3tog, ch 3, sc) in next st.
Front Post Bullion (fpb): (Yo, wrap hook around post of tr in previous row) 6 times, yo, pull through all lps on hook, ch-1 to secure).
5 Double Crochet Shell (5-dc sh): 5 dc worked into one st.
5 Treble Fan (5trf): 5 tr worked into one st
Small Split Treble Fan (sstrf): (2 tr, ch 1, 2 tr) in next st
Large Split Treble Fan (lstrf): (3 tr, ch 2, 3 tr) in next st.
Wide Treble Fan (wtrf): (tr, ch 1, tr, ch 1, tr) in next sp or st.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each rem ch across, turn.
Row 2: Sc, ch 3, sk next 3 sc, *work pp in next sc, sk next 3 sc; rep from * across to last 4 sc, sk next 3 sc, dc in last sc, turn. (60 petal puffs)
Row 3: Ch 4, work 5 dc in top of pp center at tr3tog across to last 4 sts, sk 3 sts, tr in top of ch-3, turn. (60 5-dc shells)
Row 4: Ch 4, work 2 tr in first st, sk dc shell, work sstrf in the sp between each dc shell across to the last st, work 3 tr in top of ch-4, turn. (60 sstrf)
Row 5: Ch 5, tr in first st, sk sstrf, work wtrf in sp between each sstrf across, (tr, ch 1, tr) in last st in row, turn. (60 wtrf)
Row 6: Ch 4, work 2 tr in first ch-1 sp, ch 2, sk first 2 tr, *tr in next ch-1 sp, tr in next st, tr in ch-1 sp, ch 2, sk next 2 sts; rep from * across to last st, work 3 tr in 4th ch of ch-5, turn. (60 ch-2 sp, 183 tr)

Row 13: Ch 4, tr in same st, *work wtrf in top of pp at center of tr3tog; rep from * across, work 2 tr in top of ch-3, turn.
Row 14: Ch 4, sk next 2 tr and ch-1 sp, work 5 trf into center tr of wtrf across, work 2 tr in top of ch-4, turn.
Row 15: Ch 4, work tr in next st and in each st across, tr in top of ch-4. Change to color (C) Island Blue, turn.
Row 16: Ch 3, dc in each of next 3 sts, *fpb, dc in each of next 4 sts; rep from * across, ending with 3 dc in next 2 st and in top of ch-4, turn. (307 dc, 76 fpb)
Row 17: Ch 1, sc in each st and in ch-1 in top of fpb across next 192 sts to center, place st marker here, cont in pattern across to end of row turn. (383 sc)
Row 18: Ch 4, tr in each of next 3 sts, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, 2 tr in each of next 2 sts, sk 2 sts, *lstrf in next st, sk next 3 sts, tr in each of next 3 sts; rep from * across to center st marker, work xlstrf  in center st, place st marker in ch-2 sp, sk next 3 sts; rep from * across to last 3 st in row, tr in last st, turn.

Rows 24-25: Ch 1, sc in 1st st, *ch 6, sc in top sc of pp, ch 6, sc next sc; rep from * across row, sc in last sc, turn.
Row 26: Ch 1, sc in 1st sc, *ch 6, Lp in next st, ch 6, sp in next st; rep from * across row, sc in last sc, fasten off. 

Finishing
