Simple Striped Wrap

Size: 18” x 44” (pre-assembled)

Gauge: 8 sts and 4 rows = 4” [10 cm] in dc

Materials

Yarn:

Medium weight yarn Cascade Cherub Aran (55% Nylon, 45%Acrylic; 240 yards [220 meters]/100 grams): Color 66 (Color A), 2 skeins; Color 16 (Color B), 1 skein

Hook: US size J/10 (6 mm)

Notions: Removable markers; tapestry needle

Pattern Notes

Wrap is made in one panel, sewn on one end to assemble and then the edging is added last to finish.

To increase the height, increase the beginning ch by multiple of 8. This will increase by 4” per 8 sts.

The beginning ch 3 will count as the first dc of the row.

Weave in ends as work progresses.

Pattern

Using Color A, ch 51.

Row 1: Sc in the second chain from hook and in each across – 50 sts.

Row 2: Ch 3, turn, *dc in next 2 sts, dc around the last 2 dc made; rep from * across to last st, dc in last st.

Rows 3-4: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. Join Color B, fasten off Color A.

Row 5: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.

Row 6: Rep Row 2.

Row 7: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.

Row 8: Rep Row 2. Join Color A, fasten off Color B.

Rows 9-26: Rep Rows 3-8.

Row 27: Rep Row 3.

Row 28: Rep Row 4.

Row 29: Using Color B, ch 3, turn, dc in each st across.

Row 30: Rep Row 2.

Rows 31-80: Repeat Rows 29-30. Fasten off.

Finishing

Sew ends together 12” toward to middle.

Edging

Row 1: Join Color A at one end edge, ch 3, dc in each st across – 100 sts.

Rows 2-3: Ch 3, turn, dc in each st across. Fasten off. yarn ball
